TOP-RANKED WARRIORS CRUISED TO WIN OVER SAINTS
Jan 21, 2026For the next several months, the Rochester Americans will be front and center of the local high school hockey scene as part of a weekly series that features the latest news and notes, scores and stats of select Section V games around the Greater Rochester Area.
The first-placed Webster Schroeder Warriors (12-0-0) scored early and often during an 8-0 victory Tuesday night at Webster Ice Arena over the Churchville-Chili Saints (2-13-0).
With the win, Webster Schroeder, who also claimed the first meeting earlier this season by a 5-1 score, has seven wins against the Saints in the last 10 games since the start of the 2020-21 campaign. Over the past 10 contests in the head-to-head series, the Warriors have outshot the Saints 352-213 while holding them under 30 shots in each contest.
Connor Scott (1+2), Nick Johnson (0+3), and Adian Spakoski (0+3) all tallied three apiece for the Warriors while Nicholas Scott (2+0) and Byrce Becker (1+1) also turned in a multi-point effort. Johnny May, Anthony Pusateri (1+0), Noah Spakoski (1+0), and Van Bolten (1+0) notched one goal apiece. Tyler Splain, Rick Rinaldi, Cody Preston, and Blake Smith capped off the scoring by chipping in an assist.
Goaltender Cole Hudson improved to 8-0-0 on the season as he stopped all 10 shots he faced in the first two period of regulation. Adam Griffin, who was named Player of the Game, made his varsity debut for the final 17 minutes, making five saves.
The Saints, who played their second game in as many days remain winless (0-10-0) dating back to Dec. 13, 2025, while being outscored 39-20 over that same span.
Goaltenders Joshua Felluca (1-4-0) and Caleb Piatek (0-0-0) split the duties in the crease as they combined for 40 saves. Felluca, who drew the starting nod, but took the defeat in 22 minutes.
Early in the opening period, Connor Scott fired a shot on the Saints’ netminder before Nicholas Scott deposited the rebound just 1:18 into the contest to take a 1-0 lead.
Four minutes later, the Warriors controlled the pace of play then doubled their lead on Scott’s second tally of the frame from the other Scott with 12:15 left in the stanza.
To close out the first period, a point shot by Becker extended the advantage to 3-0 as Rinaldi and Lucania both were dabbed with an assist.
Webster Schroeder, who had a 13-5 shot-advantage in the first period, tallied a pair of markers in less than 90 seconds on May and Pusateri goals.
Moments after gaining the first power play of the night, Connor Scott’s power-play marker and Bolten’s quick goal extended the lead to 7-0 with nearly 10 minutes left in the second period.
Noah Spakoski lit the lamp from the corner as he was setup by Preston and Aiden Spakoski to ultimately cap the 8-0 score at the 12:25 mark.
In a running clock to start the final period, the Warriors inserted Griffin to make his debut. The netminder stopped all five shots he faced over the 17 minutes to close out the victory.
Webster Schroeder will look to continue its unbeaten record as they travel to Greater Canandaigua Civic Center on Friday, Jan. 23 as they meet the Canandaigua Academy for a 7:00 p.m. tilt. Churchville-Chilli remains in Webster as they meet Webster Thomas at Webster Ice Arena on Saturday, Jan. 24 at 7:30 p.m.
