The Rochester Americans (7-3-0-0) took two of three games in the Canadian portion of their four-game road trip, topping Belleville and Laval once, before the Rocket snapped Rochester’s five-game win streak at the end of the week.

After a 4-1 win against the Senators, the Amerks went ahead late for a 2-1 win to trick the Rocket on Halloween night. As the month of November begins, Rochester sits tied for first in the North Division with Syracuse as both clubs yield 14 points.

DON’T DEFEAT DEVON

Through parts of four professional seasons, Devon Levi is off to his best start yet. The 23-year-old goaltender churned out a combined 56 saves through Wednesday and Friday’s wins, improving his start to the 2025-26 campaign by standing 5-0-0 entering November. In doing so, Levi is one of two AHL netminders with an undefeated record through at least five appearances, with Providence’s Michael DiPietro being the other.

Levi’s .933 save percentage tops all AHL goalies with more than four games played, with his 1.80 goals-against average placing him fifth across his position with at least four games played.

The Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Quebec, native is off to his longest undefeated streak to start a season since the 2019-20 season, where Levi spent his junior tenure with the CCHL’s Carleton Place Canadians, getting off to a 9-0-0 start.

ÖSTLUND IS AWESOME

After two weeks up with Buffalo, the Sabres reassigned forward Noah Östlund to Rochester ahead of the team’s weekend in Laval. The Stockholm, Sweden, native picked up where he left off, tallying a goal and an assist over the weekend facing the Rocket.

Through six games this season, Östlund has posted seven points (2+5), continuing his success from last season.

Dating back to Jan. 17 of last season, Östlund has operated at over a point-per-game pace as an Amerk, scoring 20 goals and 21 assists for 41 points through 37 games.

The Sabres’ prospect finished third in goals (19) with Rochester last season, ranking 13th overall in AHL rookie scoring.

CALLING ON KUNTAR

Trevor Kuntar made the biggest mark of his young Amerks career to date, scoring with less than four minutes remaining in Friday’s game to Laval to break a 1-1 tie and guide Rochester to its fifth consecutive win at the time.

Kuntar, a Williamsville, New York native, has two goals and an assist to start the season. He is one of eight forwards that have played in each of Rochester’s 10 games to begin the year, while also leading Amerks forwards in penalty minutes with 19.

The 24-year-old is amid his third professional season after beginning his career in the Boston Bruins’ organization. Kuntar is a second-generation Amerk, with Trevor’s father, Les, serving as a goaltender for the red, white, and blue during the 1996-97 season.

COMING UP NEXT

The Amerks are back home for a pair of games Wednesday and Friday at Blue Cross Arena. It starts with a midweek matchup against the Syracuse Crunch (7-2-0-0), whom the Amerks will be meeting for the third time already this season. That marks the end of the Amerks’ 11-game start to the season in which they exclusively face North Division action.

Following that, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (8-2-0-0) makes its lone visit to the Flower City this season Friday night in Rochester’s first game against an Atlantic Division squad. That continues into Sunday, when the Amerks meet with the Bears in Hershey (5-3-1-0) for the first of four matchups between the AHL’s two longest-tenured franchises.
