For the past several weeks, the Rochester Americans have been front and center on the local high school hockey scene as part of a weekly series featuring the latest news and notes, scores and stats of select Section V games around the Greater Rochester Area.

Along with four different skaters recording multi-point and a 17-save outing from goaltender Max Pitts, the Victor Central Blue Devils (11-2-0) cruised to a 6-0 victory over the Greece Storm (7-8-0) in boys ice hockey on Tuesday night at Lakeshore Hockey Arena.

Michael Peluso (2+0), Drew McCandless (0+2), Nic Figler (0+2), and Asher Erwin (1+1) all registered a two-point outing for Victor, who entered the game winners as nine of its last 10 games. Noah Wyman, Simon Kowal and Dylan Weldon all scored one goal while Jackson Guck, Charlie Seiler, Tanner Radogna, Caleb Clark, and Aiden Bagley-Cox all tallied an assist.

Pitts improved to 11-2-0 on the season as he logged his sixth shutout of the campaign. The netminder, who started the tilt with 0.92 goals against average, stopped all 17 shots he faced.

Despite having won five of its last seven games to enter the contest, Greece Storm suffered its first shutout of the slate and first since Feb. 8, 2022. Goaltender Joe Willis (7-8-0) appeared in his 15 game of the season but was dealt with the loss.

The Blue Devils jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the opening period as Erwin and Peluso both lit the lamp at the 6:05 and 13:15 mark of the frame, respectively.

Peluso pushed the Victor Central advantage to three as he tacked on his second of the night less than four minutes into the middle period.

Weldon and Kowal both scored 24 seconds apart prior to the end of the stanza then Wyman capped off the 6-0 win as he scored at 10:48 of the third period.
