Rochester Americans ESPN 97.5 FM
Senior Director of Public and Media Relations

Warren Kosel

Warren Kosel enters his 14th season with the Rochester Americans and fourth as the team's Senior Director of Public and Media Relations in 2019-20.

Kosel oversees the day-to-day communications and media relations efforts of the organization while serving as the primary contact for all local and national media outlets. Kosel also assists in the creation and execution of the Amerks digital media campaigns in addition to overseeing the team's various community outreach programs.

A native of Rochester, Kosel first joined the organization for the 2006-07 season with the former Rochester Sports Group, which consisted of the Rochester Americans (American Hockey League), the Rochester Knighthawks (National Lacrosse League), the Rochester Rhinos (United Soccer League First Division) and the Rochester Rattlers (Major League Lacrosse). During his time with the sports group, Kosel was part of two championship seasons that saw the Knighthawks claim the 2007 Champion’s Cup and the Rattlers capture the 2008 Steinfeld Cup the following summer.

Kosel held a dual role with the Amerks for the 2010-11 season when he managed the public relations activities as well as all the hockey operations of the organization and previously served as the team's communications manager up until the 2015-16 season. He also continues to serve as the liaison for all alumni relations.

During the 2013-14 season, he accompanied the Amerks when the team traveled overseas to compete in the Spengler Cup, hockey's oldest and most prestigious tournament held annually in Davos, Switzerland between Christmas and New Year's Day. The 2013 tournament marked the second time in franchise history the Amerks participated in the event. Rochester is the only AHL team and the only team in North American professional hockey to ever participate in the event after the Amerks earned a third-place finish back in 1996.

Kosel is a 2007 graduate of St. John Fisher College in Rochester, NY, where he earned bachelor's degrees in both Sport Management and Communications/Journalism.

He and his wife, Jacqueline, reside in Penfield with their daughter, Aveline, and son, Jack.
