Signed a three-year, entry-level NHL contract with the Buffalo Sabres as a free agent on April 8, 2011.

Played the majority of his rookie season in Rochester, recording eight assists and 21 PIM in 53 games with the Amerks… Appeared in six games with the ECHL’s Gwinnett Gladiators, scoring one goal and adding two assists… Scored his first professional goal in his first career multi-point game (1+1) at Kalamazoo on 2/18… Missed three games (2/08-2/11) with an injury… Scored the game-winning goal in the fourth round of the shootout to lift Rochester to a 4-3 win at Grand Rapids on 1/21… Collected an assist and was +1 against Hamilton on 1/14… Recorded 10 PIM in two fights in his return to the lineup at Hamilton on 12/11… Missed five games (12/02-12/10) with an illness… Recorded his first professional point with an assist against Grand Rapids on 10/16… Made his pro/AHL debut at Hamilton on 10/08
