Completed his fourth season with the Edmonton Oil Kings (WHL), finishing second in scoring among team defensemen with 38 points (6+32) in 57 games… Added 11 points (3+8) in 20 postseason appearances, leading Edmonton to the Ed Chynoweth Cup as WHL champions… Became the second straight Buffalo Sabres defensive prospect to captain his team to a WHL title after Brayden McNabb guided Kootenay to the 2011 championship… Took the Oil Kings to the Memorial Cup tournament, where they finished in fourth place

: Appeared in four postseason games in the 2011 WHL Playoffs… Posted his finest season of junior hockey, collecting career-highs in assists (34), points (40) and penalty minutes (88) in 63 games with the Oil Kings… Led all Edmonton defensemen in scoring for second straight season and ranked fifth overall among Oil Kings skaters in scoring… His plus/minus rating of plus-29 was also the second highest on the team and the best of his career… Appointed team captain before the start of the regular season… 2009-10: Edmonton’s top scoring defenseman with 24 points (7+17), despite just playing 48 games… Scored a career-high seven goals, including two on the power-play, before suffering a broken foot that sidelined him the rest of the season… Named Edmonton’s team MVP at the close of the regular season… 2008-09: Dressed for 61 games for Edmonton, compiling 20 points (5+15) to finish second in scoring among Oil Kings blueliners… Three of his five goals were scored on the power-play… 2007-08: Finished his rookie season in Edmonton, recording three points (1+2) in 14 games… Began the campaign with his hometown Sherwood Park Crusaders (AJHL), appearing in one game… INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION: Captured bronze with Team Canada at the 2012 World Junior Championship in Alberta… Invited to take part in Canada’s 2011 National Junior Team selection camp... Won a gold medal with Team Canada at the 2009 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament in Slovakia
