The Rochester Americans announced today that the team has recalled forward Dan Catenacci from the Owen Sound Attack of the Ontario Hockey League and goaltender Connor Knapp from the Greenville Road Warriors of the ECHL.
Catenacci, 20, appeared in 67 games for Owen Sound this season, recording 79 points (38+41) and 115 penalty minutes to lead his team in scoring and rank tied for 13th overall in the OHL. He also collected nine points (3+6) and 32 penalty minutes in 12 playoff games this season.
A native of Newmarket, Ontario, Catenacci finished his junior career with 252 points (107+145) and 414 penalty minutes in 266 total games with Sault Ste. Marie and Owen Sound. The 5-foot-10, 191-pound forward also registered 15 points (5+10) and 46 penalty minutes in 22 career postseason games. Catenacci was selected by the Sabres in the third round (77th overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
Knapp, 22, appeared in 12 games with Greenville this season, posting a record of 5-7-0-0 with a 3.05 goals against average and a .909 save percentage. He also played in four playoff games for Greenville, going 1-3 with a 2.71 goals against average and a .922 save percentage. In seven games with the Amerks this season, Knapp has gone 1-6-0 with a 3.34 goals against average and a .893 save percentage.
The York, NY native appeared in 84 games during his collegiate career at Miami (OH) University, posting a 46-22-11 record with a 1.94 goals against average and a .918 save percentage. Knapp was selected by the Buffalo Sabres in the sixth round (164th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
