Select-A-Seat Event to take place from Noon to 4 p.m.
The Rochester Americans announced today the team will host a free Skate & Shoot for youth hockey players, an Open Skate for all ages and a Select-A-Seat event at The Blue Cross Arena on Saturday, April 20 from noon to 4 p.m. The Amerks will then host the Hamilton Bulldogs at 7:05 p.m. in their final regular season home game.
There will be two Skate & Shoot sessions prior to Saturday’s game. Mites and Squirts (ages 10 and under) can skate from noon to 1:20 p.m., while Pee Wees and Bantams (ages 11-14) can skate from 1:30 p.m. to 2:50 p.m. There is no pre-registration required, but skaters are required to fill out a waiver and wear all of the required equipment (helmet with cage, skates, gloves, stick, shin guards, elbow pads, shoulder pads, cup). Skaters can enter The Blue Cross Arena through the Court St. entrance. Both sessions are free of charge.
From 3 p.m. to 3:50 p.m., there will be a free Open Skate for fans of all ages. Participants can enter through the main atrium of The Blue Cross Arena and must bring their own skates as rentals will not be available.
All participants in the skate & shoot sessions and open skate will receive a Buy One Get One ticket offer for the Amerks game on Saturday evening. In addition to the public skating sessions, the Amerks will also host a Select-A-Seat event as fans are invited to come out and select from the best possible locations for 2013-14 Amerks Season Tickets. Anyone who purchases a new package for next season will receive a $25 Distillery Gift Card and ticket(s) for the game on Saturday night per new season seat purchased.
Throughout the day on Saturday, concession stands will be open and The Zone Team Store will be offering a store-wide 50% discount on all Amerks merchandise, including jerseys. Prior to Saturday’s game, the Amerks 2012-13 Team Awards will be presented, including the Most Valuable Player, Most Improved Player and others. The winner of the Amerks “7th Man Fan of the Year” contest will also be recognized while eight-year-old singer Baylee Morrison is scheduled to perform the national anthems. There will also be a 2012-13 team photo giveaway for the first 7,500 fans on Saturday courtesy of Tops Friendly Markets. Following the game, the “jerseys off the backs” of the players will be given to randomly selected fans.
