AMERKS TOY DRIVE TO BENEFIT TOYS FOR TOTS STARTS FRIDAYNews | 12/5/2012 2:41:20 PM | ROCHESTER AMERICANS
The Rochester Americans announced today that the Amerks will hold a Toy Drive to benefit U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots this holiday season. The Toy Drive will take place during the Amerks home games on Friday, Dec. 7 versus the Adirondack Phantoms; Tuesday, Dec. 11 versus the Abbotsford Heat; and Saturday, Dec. 15 versus the Toronto Marlies. All three games begin at 7:05 p.m. at The Blue Cross Arena.
Fans are encouraged to donate new, unwrapped toys by dropping them off in collection bins in front of The Blue Cross Arena Box Office, located in the lower atrium, prior to each of the next three games. The items will then be donated to Toys For Tots.
Any fan that donates a new, unwrapped toy at the Box Office will be able to save $5 on the purchase of a best-available lower level ticket for that night’s game.
About U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program: The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community in which the campaign is conducted. The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens. The objectives of Toys for Tots are to help less fortunate children throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas; to play an active role in the development of one of our nation’s most valuable resources – our children; to unite all members of local communities in a common cause for three months each year during the annual toy collection and distribution campaign; and to contribute to better communities in the future.
