The Rochester Americans announced today that the team’s 2012 training camp will open Friday, Sept. 28 at First Niagara Center in Buffalo for two days of on-ice testing and practices.  On Sunday, Sept. 30, the Amerks open the Rochester portion of their training camp at The Blue Cross Arena beginning at 9 a.m.

Friday’s opening practice sessions at First Niagara Center are scheduled to run from 11:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 1:15 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., and will be open to the public.  Players will be available to the media following their practice session, while coaches will be available at the conclusion of the second practice session.  The same procedure will apply to all practices throughout training camp.

The schedule for the first week of Amerks 2012 Training Camp is as follows (times and locations subject to change):

Friday, Sept. 28
On-ice practice sessions from 11:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 1:15 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at First Niagara Center (Buffalo)

Saturday, Sept. 29
On-ice practice sessions from 6:30 a.m. to 7:20 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. to 8:20 a.m. at First Niagara Center (Buffalo) – Closed to the public

Sunday, Sept. 30
On-ice practice sessions from 9:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at The Blue Cross Arena

Monday, Oct. 1
On-ice practice sessions from 9:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at The Blue Cross Arena

Tuesday, Oct. 2
Blue-White Scrimmage from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at The Blue Cross Arena

Wednesday, Oct. 3

General admission tickets for the Amerks’ home preseason game at The Sports Centre at MCC versus the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Wednesday, Oct. 3 at 7:05 p.m. are now on sale for $5 apiece and can be purchased at the Customer Service desk inside The Sports Centre at MCC or at the Amerks Main Office located at The Blue Cross Arena.
