Amerks Alumni Reunion To celebrate the purchase of the Amerks by Terry Pegula and the reunion with the Sabres, the team extended an invitation to the 2011-12 Home Opener to as many Amerks Alumni as it could. After an overwhelming response, there were close to 60 former Amerks players and coaches on hand for the game, and they were introduced on the ice prior to the game in a special ceremony that was enjoyed immensely by the fans and the Alumni themselves.
Playoff Intro Video No matter what city, state, province or country one hails from, when you play for the Amerks, you are an “American.” That was the mantra heading into the 2012 Calder Cup Playoffs, and Amerks players and Alumni were eager to declare their allegiance to the franchise. Amerks Hall of Famers and Calder Cup winners Dick Gamble, Geordie Robertson, Darcy Wakaluk and Jody Gage, along with several members of the 2011-12 squad, took part in the team’s Playoff Intro video that played prior to Game 3 of Rochester’s first round playoff series against eventual Western Conference Champion Toronto.
