Nearly 20 teams and 80 kids gathered at The Blue Cross Arena on Saturday afternoon to participate in the first ever Rochester Americans Knee Hockey Tournament.

Spirited teams from all over town came ready to play, equipped with team shirts, team signs, and even some with personal knee hockey equipment. Split into two age brackets for round-robin play, competition was fierce with several teams rising to the occasion and producing standout divisional records.  Needing to calculate multiple tie-breakers to determine the teams moving on to playoffs, eight teams - four in each age bracket - ultimately came out on top and continued on to play for the Championship.

A day of high-energy hockey and heated battles concluded with the crowning of two Champions, the Blazin’ Bears, who finished in first place in the Squirt Division, and Team X, who finished in first place in the Mite Division.
