Saturday’s (Feb. 11) Junior A and B games for the Maksymum Junior Hockey Club at the Sports Centre at MCC will be fundraisers for the Tyler Putnam Foundation.

The Junior B team plays at 4 p.m., and the A team plays at 6:30. The opponent for both is the Jersey Hitmen.

Hoodies, T-shirts, bracelets and decals will be on sale or can be ordered. All proceeds will be donated to the foundation.

Putnam, an Irondequoit resident, played on the Maksymum Jr. team. He died July 7 of meningococcemia, a severe bacterial infection in the bloodstream. He was 16.

His parents, Lindsay and Shannon, created the foundation in their son’s memory to assist families that are facing life-altering circumstances with things like youth hockey registration fees. The foundation also raises awareness about meningitis.
