Buffalo Sabres General Manager Darcy Regier announced today that forward Colin Stuart has been recalled from the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League.
Stuart (7/8/1982, 6’2”, 200 lbs) will join the Sabres on his second stint of the season following a one-game recall last week, when he dressed for the team’s Dec. 10 game against the New York Rangers.
Last season, Stuart appeared in three games with the Sabres. In 55 NHL games with the Sabres and Atlanta Thrashers, Stuart has 13 points (8+5) and 26 penalty minutes.
Stuart has played in 25 games as captain for Rochester this season and ranks second on the team in goals, assists and points (8+9=17). Through 409 AHL games with Rochester, the Portland Pirates, the Abbotsford Heat and the Chicago Wolves, Stuart has collected 184 points (89+95).
The Rochester, Minn. native was selected by the Atlanta Thrashers in the fifth round (135th overall) in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft and signed a one-year deal with the Sabres on July 7.
