Registration for the 2014 Amerks Summer Hockey Camp remains open. The Amerks Summer Camps, which take place in August with one session at Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex and one session at Thomas Creek Ice Arena, offer on-ice hockey instruction from professional coaches and players for kids ages 5-14 at all different skill levels.
Amerks Head Coach Chadd Cassidy, who recently guided the Amerks to the Calder Cup Playoffs in his third season with the organization, and Amerks Assistant Coach Chris Taylor, one of the top scorers in franchise history who played 19 seasons of professional hockey, will once again serve as the head instructors for this year’s camp and will be joined by a host of other staff members and instructors.
The instructors will emphasize skill development while taking time to teach players and will help campers learn to enjoy the game through a variety of fun and challenging drills that can also be applied to game situations.
The first session will take place August 4-8 at Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex located on the campus of Monroe Community College, while the second session is scheduled for Aug. 11-15 at Thomas Creek Ice Arena. For both sessions, the Full Day Camps are open to players ages 7-14 while the Half Day Camps are open to ages 5-8.
The cost of registration for Full-Day campers is $349, though returning campers can register for $329 and the multi-week or sibling rate is just $319. Lunch can be provided each day for an additional $35 per week. The cost of registration for Half-Day campers is $199, while the returning camper and multi-week/sibling rates are $189. Goalies can register for the Full-Day camp for just $199, while the goalie rate for the Half-Day camp is $99.
