Warren Kosel enters his ninth season as Manager of Communications with the Rochester Americans in 2014-15 and eighth in the professional sports industry. Prior to the 2012-13 season, the task of managing alumni relations was added to his title.
During the 2013-14 season, Kosel accompanied the Amerks when the team traveled overseas to compete in the Spengler Cup, hockey's oldest and most prestigious tournament held annually in Davos, Switzerland between Christmas and New Year's Day. The 2013 tournament marked the second time in franchise history the Amerks participated in the event. Rochester is the only AHL team and the only team in North American professional hockey to ever participate in the event after the Amerks earned a third-place finish back in 1996.
A native of Rochester, Kosel first joined the organization for the 2006-07 season with the former Rochester Sports Group, which comrpised the Rochester Americans (American Hockey League), the Rochester Knighthawks (National Lacrosse League), the Rochester Rhinos (United Soccer League First Division) and the Rochester Rattlers (Major League Lacrosse). During his time with the sports group, Kosel was part of two championship seasons that saw the Knighthawks claim the 2007 Champion’s Cup and the Rattlers capture the 2008 Steinfeld Cup the following summer.
Kosel, a 2007 graduate of St. John Fisher College in Rochester, NY, resides in Penfield with his wife, Jacqueline.
