Marcus Allen begins his first season as an Assistant Equipment Manager with the Rochester Americans in 2017-18.
Allen joins the Amerks from the Rochester Institute of Technology’s athletic department, where he served as the Director of Hockey Operations and Equipment Manager for the men’s Division I hockey program for the 2016-17 season.
Prior to his time at RIT, he spent two years as Rink Coordinator at HarborCenter in downtown Buffalo. He was in charge of skate sharpening and repairs, ice maintenance and various tournament operations.
From 2012-14, Allen was the equipment manager for the Princeton University women’s hockey team, while also serving as a facilities and operations manager for all of Princeton’s athletics teams.
Allen interned with the Rochester Americans and Rochester Knighthawks in the game-day operations department during the Spring of 2010, before heading to his alma mater, Niagara University, to serve as the women’s hockey equipment manager from 2010-12.
Originally from Angola, N.Y., Allen obtained his bachelor’s degree in business management from Niagara University in 2007 and a master’s degree in sports administration from Canisius College in 2010.
