Kyle Smith enters his eighth full season in the American Hockey League as the Rochester Americans’ Video Coordinator and Team Services.
Prior to the 2018-19 season, the duties of handling all team-related services was added to his title. In his expanded role, Smith will be responsible for all aspects of team travel and continue to oversee video operations.
Before joining the Amerks, Smith spent the 2010-11 campaign with the Buffalo Sabres in the Pro Scouting/Hockey Analytics Department, handling various tasks and working closely with Buffalo’s hockey operations personnel. In April of 2011, Smith accepted the interim video coach position with the AHL’s Portland Pirates shortly before being elevated to full-time status within the Buffalo Sabres/Rochester Americans organization.
A 2011 graduate of SUNY Cortland, Smith played four years of collegiate hockey for the Red Dragons, serving as team captain his final two seasons.
He is the son of former Sabre Derek Smith.
