Jaime Garcia enters his second season as an Assistant Athletic Trainer of the Rochester Americans in 2018-19.
Prior to joining the Amerks last season, Garcia spent three seasons as the head athletic trainer of the Allen Americans of the ECHL. During his time in Allen, Garcia won back-to-back Kelly Cup championships in 2014-15 and 2015-16 and was selected to work the bench for the 2017 ECHL All-Star Game in Glens Falls, New York in January of 2017.
Before joining Allen, Garcia served in the same capacity for the Fort Worth Brahmas of the Central Hockey League for one season and also completed a summer-long internship Buffalo Bills in 2005.
Leading up to the 2017-18 campaign, Garcia assisted the Dallas Stars’ hockey performance staff at the organization’s annual development and rookie camps in addition to the team’s main training camp for four straight years.
Garcia graduated from the University of Houston in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science with an emphasis in athletic training. He went on to receive his M.S. in Athletic Training from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2008 and holds certifications through the Board of Certification of the National Athletic Trainers Association.
