SABRES CALL UP CRISCUOLO, NELSON FROM AMERKS

The Buffalo Sabres today announced the team has recalled forward Kyle Criscuolo (krihs-KOH-loh) and defenseman Casey Nelson from the Rochester Americans (AHL).

Criscuolo (5’9”, 172 lbs., 5/5/1992) joins the Sabres for his first career recall after signing a two-year contract with the team in July. Through 14 games in his second full AHL season, the Southampton, New Jersey native is tied for the Americans’ team lead with 11 points (5+6) and leads the team in plus/minus rating (plus-4) and shots (40).

Now in his second full professional season after signing with the Sabres in March 2016, Nelson (6’1”, 185 lbs., 7/18/1992) has posted four points (1+3) in 14 games with Rochester in 2017-18. A native of Stillwater, Minnesota, Nelson has totaled four assists and 12 penalty minutes in 18 career NHL games with Buffalo.

In a corresponding move, the Sabres have placed defensemen Taylor Fedun and Matt Tennyson on injured reserve.
